Selection will be made a scholarship panel and decisions are final. Awards are limited to persons living in the continental United States.

Expenses will be limited only to the actual recipients' and not to family members or escorts. Other limitations may apply.

Each year, our goal is to help one special student get to college, and one special teacher be recognized. We do this to encourage teacher and student participation in the further study of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Since 1995, JFK Lancer has donated hundreds of dollars' worth of research materials to students, teachers, schools and libraries. We are committed to the our goal of educating people by making research materials available for everyone. That's why we have decided to put our commitment in action in a different and meaningful way. This means CASH awards for a selected student and teacher to be awarded in November.

Students and teachers who are qualified are encouraged to complete the requirements and send it to:

We are looking for a young person who has demonstrated leadership qualities in the classroom as well as in student activities. This student should have a standard of excellence in research contributions to the study of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The scholarship is $500.00 and $100 in research materials.

• under 21 years of age
• high school juniors or seniors.

have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours by school year end, have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, submit two letters of recommendation. (see "Nomination" below.)

include a record of extracurricular leadership activities. (see guidelines)
include examples of their classroom JFK project. (video, photographs, research paper, field trips, etc.)

submit a typed, 500-word essay titled: "Why the JFK Assassination Still Matters."

• Eligibility for competition in the JFK Lancer Scholarship program is by nomination.
• Students or Teachers should be nominated by their guidance counselors, (fellow) teachers, principals, headmasters or headmistresses.
• A student or teacher may also enter a nomination on his/her own behalf with an additional reference.
• An interview by a JFK Lancer representative will also be required.

We wish to reward a teaching professional who has demonstrated leadership and dedication in teaching young people the assassination events in the classroom. This teacher should have set a standard of excellence in research for their students to strive for and personally contributed information to the understanding of the murder of President John F. Kennedy.

Recognizing the need for ethical leadership in the 21st century and the increasingly important role of teachers as leaders, JFK Lancer offers the JFK Lancer Scholarship for Teachers who demonstrate characteristics of leadership. The scholarship is $500 cash and $100 value of research materials.

• Full time, certified teacher at high school level.
• Teaching the assassination as an independent class or as part of another class subject.
  

• Examples of their JFK classroom project. (video, workbook, class outlines, field trips, listing of students' research, etc.)

• Two references (see "Nomination" below.)

• Submit a typed, 500-word essay titled: "Why the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy Still Matters"
